Can Solar panels be mounted on any kind of roof?
Yes, solar panels can be mounted on any kind or roof – concrete (RCC) roofs, flat or sloped roofs, metallic sheet roofs, clay tiled roofs with appropriately designed structures. A good design will also ensure that the structures are designed to withstand wind speeds of upto 120 km/hr in conformance with the requirements under the building code in most municipalities. Below are a few examples of our installations done on different kinds of roof types:
Solar panels installed on a sloped metal sheet roof
Solar panels installed on an elevated structure
Solar panels installed on a flat RCC roof
Solar panels installed on a sloped RCC roof
Solar panels installed on a sloped clay-tiled roof
Solar panels installed at an elevation on the ground
Interestingly, solar panels can also be installed as the roof itself, that is, a roof can be built out of solar panels. By using special adhesives, the roof with solar panels can also be made completely water proof so that the area below is completely protected against rain.
